A cup that encapsulates the power of Mount Fuji
This matcha comes from the Okumidori variety, grown in elegant tea plantations surrounded by trees, in fields closest to Mount Fuji.
The fields, once abandoned, have been brought back to life over many years, allowing the tea to absorb all the strength and generosity of the Fuji land.
This matcha stands out for its rich and deep flavor, intense aroma, and velvety texture.
Each year it offers different nuances, allowing you to savor the fruit of the growers' efforts.
Okumidori is a prized Japanese tea variety, loved for its natural sweetness, rich taste, and intense emerald green color. It is particularly suitable for the production of gyokuro and matcha. Born from the cross between Japan's most common variety, Yabukita, and an indigenous variety from Shizuoka, Okumidori has won the hearts of connoisseurs for its soft, low-bitterness, and full-umami profile.
Thanks to its high resistance to cold, it is cultivated in various areas of Japan, including Shizuoka. It is ideal for those seeking a delicate yet profound matcha, perfect for both those new to Japanese tea and those who appreciate its more elegant nuances.
With its round taste and beauty, Okumidori is a choice that enriches your daily break with authenticity and harmony.

How to prepare Ceremonial Mt Fuji Okumidori Matcha
- Usucha preparation (light tea)
- Place 2 grams of matcha in a suitable bowl or similar.
- Pour 70 ml of 80-degree water (bring water to a boil and let cool to 80 degrees) into the bowl.
- Whisk using a chasen (bamboo whisk), first quickly and energetically, then slowly until a foam with small bubbles is formed. If you don't have one, use a kitchen whisk, an electric whisk, or a low-speed blender.
-
Koicha preparation (thick tea)
- Place 3-4 g of matcha powder in a bowl suitable for matcha.
- Pour 30 ml of 80-degree water (bring water to a boil and let cool to 80 degrees) into the bowl.
- Whisk using a chasen (bamboo whisk), slowly if you want to maintain a creamy consistency. If you prefer a foam, the procedure is the same as for usucha.
It is also possible to prepare with cold water, the procedure is the same.
Before the first step, we recommend warming the bowl by pouring hot water into it, then removing it and drying the bowl with a cloth or tissue.
We also recommend sifting the matcha powder through a sieve because without this procedure, lumps may form when water is added.
To preserve freshness, once the matcha bag is opened, we recommend sealing it tightly and storing it in a cool, dry place (outside the fridge), away from direct light.
To preserve freshness, once opened, consume within one month.
For storage, the unopened package should be kept in a cold place like the refrigerator for up to about 6 months.
