What is Yōkan?
Yōkan (羊羹) is a traditional Japanese dessert made with sweet bean paste, sugar, and agar-agar (a gelling agent made from seaweed). It has a gelatinous but firm consistency, similar to a solid pudding or thick jelly.
It's a very popular sweet in Japan, often served with green tea during tea ceremonies or as a sweet snack. Yōkan can be enriched with various ingredients, such as chestnuts, green tea (matcha or other varieties), and sometimes even pieces of fruit or other flavorings.
Available in matcha and hōjicha (roasted green tea) varieties, this traditional Japanese dessert stands out for its rich aroma and smooth, velvety texture, offering a refined and authentic taste experience.

Behind the scenes of a special product
The production of this yōkan required a demanding development to be able to blend a large quantity of tea with a soft and creamy texture.
The complexity of the process caused delays in product deliveries in the initial stages.
A dessert made with great care and passion, representing artisanal excellence waiting to be discovered.
